Gyms are now finding it economical to remain open 24 hours. Always inspect the entire gym and its facilities before you commit to signing up. Choose a gym that is easy for you to get to. Some gyms may offer discounts for long term memberships, so know what you're signing! If you sign up for a 36 month contract, you'll be held to it, even if you stop going.
